Hallan urnas funerarias incas en el norte argentino
Un grupo de policías argentinos que patrullaba la Quebrada de Humahuaca, en el noroeste del país, halló unas urnas funerarias que se cree que pertenecieron a los incas.
El hallazgo se produjo ayer en un camino de tierra del paraje El Antigal, en la localidad de Peña Blanca, a unos 1.500 kilómetros al noroeste de Buenos Aires.
Según las fuentes, unos agentes antinarcóticos que vigilaban esa zona de la Quebrada de Humahuaca se toparon con unas urnas de arcilla y a metros de distancia también encontraron una tumba.
Al parecer, las constantes precipitaciones caídas en la región erosionaron la tierra lo que permitió que salieran a la superficie las urnas rituales.
Las autoridades policiales informaron del hallazgo a una jueza y a la Dirección de Cultura de la provincia de Jujuy, en cuya jurisdicción se encuentra la Quebrada de Humahuaca, que inmediatamente enviaron a un arqueólogo para hacer los estudios primarios, aunque fue impedido por los indígenas.
Por este impedimento, la jueza penal Delia Ortiz inició un sumario en el marco de una ley que protege el patrimonio de la provincia.
Fuentes judiciales señalaron que mañana, viernes, se enviará a otro grupo de arqueólogos para realizar las primeras pericias.
A mediados de 2003, la Unesco declaró Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad a la Quebrada de Humahuaca, un paraje de singular belleza muy visitado por los turistas.
La Quebrada de Humahuaca es el resultado de la interacción continua entre un sistema geoecológico altamente representativo de la región andina suramericana y las sucesivas sociedades y culturas que se asentaron en ella durante los últimos diez mil años, con una continuidad difícil de encontrar en otras áreas de los Andes.
La actual población del lugar, de la etnia coya, practica mantiene pautas culturales derivadas de las antiguas culturas indígenas que sobrevivieron, con transformaciones por su contacto con el mundo español.
